PROS –
1) Set in a dystopian future where a community exists in a giant underground silo comprising 144 levels. People live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. But they are unaware of many hidden lies that surrounds the entire existence of the Silo itself.

 

 

CONS –
1) This is for the audience who haven’t seen The Truman Show (1998) and The Island (2005).

1) A former top assassin living incognito as a suburban dad must take his unsuspecting family on the run when his past catches up to him.

 

 

CONS –
1) The director forgot it’s a comedy-action movie mid-way.
2) The action is routine and jokes are absent.

Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)

PROS –
1) When oil is discovered in 1920s Oklahoma under Osage Nation land, the Osage people are murdered one by one, under a grand scheme hatched by a greedy rancher – until the FBI steps in to unravel the mystery.
2) An interesting piece of forgotten history.
3) Brendan Fraser surprise cameo.
4) Robert De Niro is the only actor who got a meaty role with some scope. And he delivered.

 

 

CONS –
1) Leonardo DiCaprio plays a feedble, gullible henchman of Robert De Niro’s character while De Niro plays the central character and the prime villian. Can’t understand why DiCaprio agreed to do this silly supporting role.
2) Martin Scorsese could’ve trimmed this movie to 120 minutes easily. The 206 minutes epic run-time is completely unnecessary.
3) Not a single scene worth a repeat watch. A mediocre movie from Scorsese.

PROS –
1) Cole falls in love with enigmatic Sadie and travels all the way to London to surprise her, but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent.
2) Adrien Brody as Leveque is impressive.
3) This world needs more Ana de Armas.

 

 

CONS –
1) The bounty hunters scene with Anthony Mackie, John Cho, and Sebastian Stan was supposed to a laugh riot. But the director failed here too.
2) Predictable plot and lazy execution.

Servant (Season 1)

PROS –
1) A woman’s carelessness resulted in the death of her infant child. As a cope up mechanism she’s is asked to keep a doll and acts as it is real. The couple hires a young nanny as part of the pretend. The story comes into motion when the doll comes to life after the arrival of the nanny.
2) The story is fresh and the screenplay is gripping. The 30-minute runtime per episode works like a charm.

CONS –
1) Too many questions left unanswered.
2) Mediocre cast.

PROS –
1) Some good naval battle sequences wrapped up in 91-minutes running time.

 

 
CONS –
1) For a generation who grew up on submarine films like Das Boot (1981), The Hunt for Red October (1990), U-571 (2000), etc., this movie is quite redundant and completely avoidable. The bombardment of nautical jargon and navy battle lingo is not helping either.
2) Tom Hanks gave another formulaic performance which is not his mistake though. He’s a seriously typecasted in such roles now.
