PROS –
1) An unskilled, over-smart lawyer trying to defend his innocent cousins from murder charges leading to hilarious proceedings in courtroom. One of the all time must watch classic comedy. Joe Pesci deserved an Oscar for his performance alongside Marisa Tomei.
2) One of the best Courtroom Drama Film.
3) Marisa Tomei’s climactic monologues.

 

 

CONS –
1) The character of Vinny Gambini deserved a sequel or a sit-com.

Pros –
1) 5 minutes into the movie and you won’t realize it’s a British actor playing an Indian. This Indian stereotype can be attributed to Peter Sellers’ excellent performance.

 

Cons –
1) A great concept but the legendary director was stick to his slapstick humor tactics not trusting Peter Sellers. The climactic pie-fight from “The Great Race” was replaced by soap-bubbles. But it won’t work every time
2) Lack of supporting cast.

1) Will not call it a thriller as the cops never investigate the case but case keeps coming back to them.
2) The movie was well built from the first scene but final 20 minutes were going in no direction.

6) The sub-plot of separation of two brothers.This is the strongest part of the film.
Cons –

1) An unnecessay emotional over-tone all over the film while it only portrays story of an everyday man gone nuts who finally commits suicide.
2) The movie cannot justfies it’s title as the insanity of main protagonist keep shifting from one domain to another.

1) Though Jake Gyllenhaal convincingly played the role of a psychopath freelancer which is undoubtedly one of his best performance, he overacted.
