Verdict – 2/5

Pros –
1) A disillusioned preacher rescuing his sister kidnapped by a supernatural cult.A premise similar to The Wicker Man (1973) and a period similar to The Witch (2015).
2) Jeremy’s ritualistic death from his own POV. Some crazy body-horror sequences throughout the movie.

Cons –
1) More was expected from the director of the cult-action movie The Raid (2012).
2) 30 minutes too long for a story with little consequences and stock horror movie music.

Andrea: What happened to you?
Thomas: My Faith. I once held fast a belief in the divine. Like you, I knelt before a deity. Armed with the book of Jesus Christ, Ied my parish into the heart of Peking. And we showed them the glory and love of God himself and then they showed us the Devil.

Verdict – 4/5

Pros –
1) One of the most important film of the decade. This absurdist sci-fi black comedy joined the ranks of other anti-consumerism movies like They Live, Fight Club and Idiocracy.
2) Kickass direction by debutant Boots Riley. It’s funny, racist, offensive and powerful satire like Get Out.
3) “I Got the S#*@ Kicked Out of Me!” – this show within the movie summarizes the modern sugar-coated dystopian TV contents.

Cons –
1) Climax is not ambiguous but vague.

Verdict – 3/5

Pros –
1) Great finale! Jimmy’s character is fascinating and a matter of study. Someone who enjoys crime and mischief; someone who’ll always cut corners. He may look like a victim every now and then however his true self will remain Slippin’ Jimmy.
2) Werner’s death scene is now bigger than Gale’s death scene in Breaking Bad.
3) Mike’s no-nonsense character is now getting iconic.
4) Huell’s rescue plot.
5) Ep.7 brilliant split-screen time jump sequence between Jimmy and Kim. Frank and Nancy can’t be much prouder.

Verdict – 4/5

Pros –
1) Cedric the Entertainer as Gus Petch – the man deserves an Oscar for that short role with his iconic catchphrase – I’m gonna nail your ass!
2) Jonathan Hadary as Heinz, the Baron Krauss von Espy – he stole the entire courtroom scene.
3) Billy Bob Thornton plot twist. Marylin, the ruthless golddigger, planned the perfect revenge but love overshadowed vengeance.
4) Fast paced well-written screenplay. George Clooney & Catherine Zeta-Jones had an amazing chemistry as a power couple.

2) John DiMaggio as Bender – the best character of this show.
3) Some of the episodes are a simple satire on current world problems while some are real philosophical.

Verdict – 2/5

Pros –
1) Great music – all credits to Anand Bakshi and Uttam Singh.
2) One woman show – Madhuri completely overshadowed Shah Rukh Khan – rest all actors are all over the place.

Cons –
1) A Yash Raj Fantasy world of larger than life celestial love and product placement.
2) Epic length, weak screenplay, forgettable dialogues
3) Shallow characters. Who is SRK playing in this film? No backstory. His dimwit sidekicks are more annoying than the screenplay.

Verdict – 2/5

Pros –
1) Martha’s revelation – from this point onward the cat was out of the bag.
2) A good ensemble of actors.

Cons –
1) Average murder-mystery with one plot-twist.
2) 30 minutes too long. Too much time taken in establishing that Rachel got some psychological illness to confuse the audiences.
3) Tate Taylor was clearly trying to recreate the magic of “Gone Girl” but not everyone is as good as David Fincher.
