VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Most commercially viable time for a project like Batla House Encounter when the entire nation is drenched in nationalist fervor.

CONS –
1) Absent supporting cast. Apart from Ravi Kishan, hardly any actor is well known.
2) “O Saki Saki” remix can only get cheap views on YouTube, otherwise the entire soundtrack is garbage. Background score is mainly ripping off Hans Zimmer from The Dark Knight (2008)

VERDICT – 2/5

PROS –
1) Very informative & an absolute eye-opener revealing hidden facts on Shastri’s death. The death of a PM certainly needs a widespread discussion even with conspiracy theories.
2) HJ Bhabha death, The Mitrokhin Archive, etc are some of the most noteworthy points of the movie which cannot be undermined.

CONS –
1) Even with a talented pool of actors, there is less acting and more over-acting.
2) The primary structure is clearly copied from 12 Angry Men (1957)
3) Forgettable soundtrack.

VERDICT – 2/5

PROS –
1) Well-made biopic of an underdog. Real-life footage of matches with CGI adds great authenticity to the entire experience.
2) Herry Tangri as Yuvraj Singh. This actor is a spitting image of young Yuvraj.

CONS –
1) Generic elements of a sports biopic. I wonder how many times Anupam Kher will play the perennial role of a father asking his kids to quit sports.
2) Forgettable soundtrack

VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) The entire movie is scene-to-scene to remake of Arjun Reddy (2017). Sandeep Reddy Vanga successfully recreated the blockbuster in Hindi.
2) Kamini Kaushal was possibly the best choice for that important role.
3) Soham Majumdar played the pivotal role of the ultimate sidekick cum friend.

CONS –
1) Shahid Kapoor fell short of Vijay Deverakonda’s version by a whisker.

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Satish Kaushik and Aasif Sheikh brought some fun with their character.

CONS –
1) Salman Khan tried the bollywoodization of Ode to My Father (2014) but ended up ruining it. He tried amalgamating Forrest Gump (1994) with the Korean movie.
2) The most important strength of Ode to My Father (2014) is its emotional quotient. Ali Abbas Zafar ravaged it by inserting periodical item numbers and tedious sub-plots.
3) Forgettable soundtrack.

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) One time watch small-town comedy.

CONS –
1) New age Bollywood is clearly scraping the bottom of the barrel for small-town stories.
2) Pankaj Tripathi is clearly miscast in a role tailor-made for Rajpal Yadav.
3) The movie ruined the original Laung Laachi song thanks to Tulsi Kumar.
