PROS –
1) Another Ayushmann small town movie, another men’s problem, and a message of self-acceptance. The movie also addresses the issue of fairness-obsessed Indian society apart from the primary issue pre-mature baldness in men.
2) The great supporting cast including Saurabh Shukla, Deepika Chikhalia, Javed Jaffrey, and Seema Pahwa completed with Vijay Raaz’s narration.
3) The amazing desification of The Champs – “Tequila” song.

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) A young woman named Catherine hires two bumbling, amateur cattle hustlers, and a notorious gunman to avenge his father’s death.
2) Lee Marvin plays Kid Shelleen & his twin Tim Strawn who is also the primary antagonist. Tim is the only memorable character as the intimidating nose-less villain wearing an artificial silver nose.

CONS –
1) This movie is anything but good. A childish screenplay with annoying performances from all actors. It’s baffling how this movie managed its place in AFI’s 10 Top 10.
2) The performance of Lee Marvin is decent but definitely not worth an Oscar. His filmography is full of much better performances.
3) “The Ballad of Cat Ballou” by Nat King Cole & Stubby Kaye is equally annoying.

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) A light hearted family comedy about a grandson’s “war” with his grandpa. Veterans like Robert De Niro & Christopher Walken just having fun being themselves.

CONS –
1) A movie from the cold storage with a stale story done to death.
2) Such a waste of Uma Thurman.

QUOTE –
Peter: What kind of friend is that?
Ed: Friend? He is my driver. I don’t know the guy.

The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) An inexperienced man is made the president of a company as part of a stock scam.
2) The fictional invention of the “hula hoop” is the central element of the plot.
3) A comedy movie with caricaturish stock characters. The dystopian mailroom of Hudsucker Industries was surreal.

CONS –
1) The climactic fantasy element of freezing time by stopping the giant clock was baffling. The supernatural element doesn’t fit with the movie.

PROS –

CONS –
1) This workplace comedy was expected to be out an out laugh riot with 2 assistant managers of a corporate grocery store outdoing each other for promotion. But sadly even with genuinely funny actors like Seann William Scott & John C. Reilly, this tepid comedy is a sheer disappointment.

PROS –
1) A girl secretly hatches a grand plan (with the help of an eccentric psychiatrist) to instigate his submissive boyfriend who is constantly bullied in his personal and professional life.
2) A comedy of odd couple,  full of quirky characters and witty dialogues. A sure shot Adam Sandler entertainer.
3) An effective supporting cast and memorable cameos by Woody Harrelson, John C. Reilly, & Heather Graham.

CONS –
1) The cameo by Rudy Giuliani and the Yankees Team at the end is equally cringy.

QUOTE –
Dr. Buddy Rydell: Let me explain something to you, Dave. There are two kinds of angry people in this world: explosive and implosive. Explosive is the kind of individual you see screaming at the cashier for not taking their coupons. Implosive is the cashier who remains quiet day after day and finally shoots everyone in the store. You’re the cashier.
Dave Buznik: No, no, no. I’m the guy hiding in the frozen food section dialing 911. I swear.

PROS –
1) A man woke up after 100-years of getting brined in a vat of pickles, trying to fit in the modern-day New York City with his great-grandson. The first original film released by HBO Max finally marks the return of Seth Rogen in a quality role since Steve Jobs (2015).
2) The movie showcases the clash of generations by addressing modern social phenomena like free speech, cancel culture, capitalism, religion, and family values from the perspective of a 19th-century man.
3) Fast-paced and funny screenplay.

2) Peter Sellers as Jacques Clouseau gave an excellent performance as expected.

PROS –
1) The cat and mouse game between an FBI agent and a young talented con-man in the 1960s.
2) Christopher Walken as Frank Abagnale Sr. gave an extremely touching performance of a heartbroken person who wasn’t able to recover from the shock of losing his home and family after encountering tax problems with the IRS.
3) There is Steven Spielberg charm all over the screenplay which makes even a con-man an adorable character.
4) One of the most memorable Leonardo DiCaprio roles.
