M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016)

STORY – 0
DIRECTOR – 1
ACTOR – 1

CULT – 0

VERDICT – 2/5

PROS –
1) Well-made biopic of an underdog. Real-life footage of matches with CGI adds great authenticity to the entire experience.
2) Herry Tangri as Yuvraj Singh. This actor is a spitting image of young Yuvraj.

CONS –
1) Generic elements of a sports biopic. I wonder how many times Anupam Kher will play the perennial role of a father asking his kids to quit sports.
2) Forgettable soundtrack

VERDICT  – 1/5

PROS –
1) Some jokes worked however most of them were cringey.

CONS –
1) Koi Mil Gaya (2003) meets OMG: Oh My God! (2012). Saurabh Shukla’s Batuk Maharaj from Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006) got an extension as Tejaswi Maharaj.
2) Aamir’s irritating Bhojpuri accent.
3) Anuska’s boring romantic subplot.
4) “Wrong Number” was intended to be the new “Jaadu Ki Jhappi” but it backfired.
5) If you have seen OMG: Oh My God! (2012), this movie got the same message but lesser content.
