Murder Mystery (2019)

STORY – 1
DIRECTOR – 1
ACTOR – 1
MUSIC – 0
CULT – 0

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) An Agatha Christie kind of pan-European whodunit murder-mystery with a diverse list of suspects. Instead of Hercule Poirot, it’s the bumbling couple of Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

CONS –
1) One time watch.
2) A better supporting cast would’ve been nice.

QUOTE –
Charles Cavendish: That is the Quince dagger. Chinese steel, jewels from across the Orient. A gift to the family from Marco Polo. Or so the legend says.
Audrey Spitz: God. Nick’s grandmother gave us a toaster from Sears. Or so the legend says.

The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018)

STORY – 0
DIRECTOR – 0
ACTOR – 0
MUSIC – 0
CULT – 0

Verdict – 0/5

Pros –
1) Tess post-script monologue is a well-written piece. Sadly, this character neither got a proper execution nor screentime.
2) Final Trapeze fight.

Cons –
1) Both lead actors are unfunny. Also, the jokes are without punchlines. The only funny character in this 117 minutes ordeal was the obese Finnish backpacker.
2) The movie just copied the Jude Law plot-twist from Spy (2015).
3) Ivanna Sakhno as Nadedja – token European weirdo villain.

Audrey: How do you change gear?
Morgan: What’s a gear?
