VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) The epic finale of the 11-year-old journey culminating with the 22nd film. A journey started by Jon Favreau, led by Joss Whedon, and concluded by the Russo brothers. A rare grand emotional movie event of this generation.
2) The time travel plot enabled the screenwriters to add all the good & bad, major & minor characters from the franchise to make one final cameo in this grand finale.
3) Captain America lifting Mjolnir is got to be the most epic scene of this movie. A scene 4 years in the making.
4) A fulfilling climax for Steve Rogers.
5) Fun filled storyline with great comic-relief from Ant-Man and Thor “The Dude” Lebowski.
6) An epic finale needs an epic sacrifice. It had to be Tony Stark.

Verdict – 2/5

Pros –
1) That post-credit scene where Pym, Hope, and Janet disintegrate.
2) Return of the Original Wasp.
3) Randall Park as Jimmy Woo proved a better comic relief than Michael Peña as Luis.

Cons –
1) The absence of a co-Avenger.Not a single Avenger played a supporting role neither a cameo. Weirdly, the Ant-Man universe is cut-off from the main Avenger universe.
2) Ava Starr / Ghost subplot – unnecessary and absurd sub-plot.

Verdict – 5/5

Pros –
1) This erotic thriller is an homage to Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo (1958) – a detective with mental issues, blonde femme fatale, San Francisco, very similar musical score, driving scenes.
2) The interrogation scene.
3) Final scene leaving the audiences to decide who the real killer is.

2) Frederic Forrest as Nick
3) Redemption of both the lead character by the end of the movie.
4) The opening scene with Michael Douglas stuck in the traffic. Excellent sound-editing whenever we see Michael Douglas’ character on screen.
5) A precursor to “Fight Club“. Probably the best Joel Schumacher film.

CULT – 1

Verdict – 5/5

Pros –
1) Multiple plot-twist towards the climax will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats.
2) Michael Douglas as Nicholas van Orton – One man show
3) It’s like a “Twilight Zone” episode

Cons –
1) The final twist somewhat brought the whole movie down. With Nicholas dying by suicide he actually beats the game but he surviving means the game won, as planned.

Feingold: This is fucking dangerous.
Nicholas: You don’t seem to understand. Right now — I’m dangerous.

3) Main Villain: Yellowjacket
4) Paul Rudd: seems constrained by the director
5) It was supposed to be an “Edgar Wright” movie
