CULT – 0

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) Just like the first installment, it’s a nice enjoyable zombie-comedy. The movie gets into the mood from the Columbia/SONY intro itself.
2) Luke Wilson as Albuquerque
3) One scene where Columbus and Flagstaff are wrangling over their respective rules and commandments.

CONS –
1) Nothing extraordinary added to the franchise, rather it’s a sequel too late.

VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) A very peculiar love-triangle with hilarious consequences.
2) Jason Schwartzman as Max Fischer. The entire character of Max is intriguing. School’s most extracurricularly active and least academic student.
3) Wes Anderson movies are known for three things. Deadpan comedy, symmetrical compositions in cinematography, and the soundtrack from the 60s & 70s. This movie excelled in all 3 departments.

VERDICT – 4/5

PROS –
1) An eerily realistic future movie with cult written all over it. A dim-witted human population controlled by corporate in every possible aspect of life.
2) Terry Crews as U.S. President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. This is the most memorable character of the movie.
3) Slangs and low “registers” of the English language spoken in the future world got an analogy with the Russo-Eng language developed in “A Clockwork Orange” (1971).
4) This Mike Judge’s magnum opus is an homage to Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, and Cyril M. Kornbluth.

VERDICT – 4/5

PROS –
1) Will Ferrell as “Chazz” Michael Michaels. He took the character of an over-confident self-obsessed skater to another level.
2) A side-splitting comedy movie, full of memorable jokes and characters.
3) Great skating choreography.
4) The whalebone comb called Verticoli. The intensity by which Will Ferrell describes it, explains the caliber of this actor.
