VERDICT – 4/5

PROS –
1) A criminal organization that arranges human hunting as a sport for wealthy individuals messed up this time with the wrong person. Huge explosions, stylish gunfights, slow-motion action scenes, doves, round-house kicks, and Jean-Claude Van Damme. Its John Woo in all it’s glory.
2) The entire action sequence with the bike chase is probably one of the best action scene in John Woo library.

VERDICT – 0/5

PROS –
1) Star-studded cast.

CONS –
1) It’s a bad western from all standards. It’s neither a conventional western nor it is revisionist. Too much style over substance.
2) You can smell the Harmonica like revenge plot from a mile. The primary “Lady” plot with Sharon Stone, in fact, is the most boring plot.
3) Leonardo DiCaprio as “The Kid” is quite annoying.

PROS –

3) “The Terminator Theme” by Brad Fiedel.
4) The Kyle Reese paradox.

Verdict – 1/5

Pros –

1) Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley – badass bald look
2) Lance Henriksen as damaged Bishop – The only worth-watching CGI scene.

Cons –

1) 3 Alien movies and still no Weyland-Yutani sub-plot.
2) Wrong set-up.Deserted prison with no sci-fi.Also too long for such a story-line
3) Unlike Aliens, it’s about just 1 alien. The climax of bait-and-chase plan with closing door is disaster.
3) Ripley’s death. Bad CGI & Anti-Climax.
