VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) A teenage high-school girl got informed that she’s a Chosen One, destined to kill vampires.
2) Some good acrobatic fight scenes.

CONS –
1) This coming-of-age vampire movie is all style over substance. Joss Whedon seems too much inspired by An American Werewolf in London (1981) and tried to recreate something similar.
2) A one time watch horror-comedy without a single memorable character. The boss villain Lothos (played by Rutger Hauer) was equally lame.

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Idiosyncratic adventures of an outlandish army medical unit during the Korean War.
2) The fumbling P.A. announcements at regular intervals are the only funny part of the entire movie.

CONS –
1) This writing is nowhere like Catch-22 (1970) which is a far better black-comedy with a military backdrop.
2) Robert Altman’s direction is sloppy and the poor-quality Panavision cinematography is not helping either.

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) The breathtaking stunt by Sean Connery on top of the moving train dodging bridges after bridges. The last 20 minutes of the movie are unmissable.

CONS –
1) The first hour of the heist is engaged in extracting the 4 keys. The third and final act saves this movie.
2) Ridiculous climactic escape.

QUOTE –
Judge: Now, on the matter of motive, we ask you: Why did you conceive, plan, and execute this dastardly and scandalous crime?
Edward Pierce: I wanted the money.

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) The nothingness and emptiness of the space observed by a mad astronaut and his son; both fighting their solitude.
2) The breathtaking LRV chase sequence got to be one of the highlights of this movie.
3) Colonies on Moon and Mars, space baboons, etc. This sci-fi universe has some promising sub-plots.

CONS –
1) It appears like a wannabe Interstellar (2014) with a gloomy vibe throughout the movie.

VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) Seth Gordon’s laugh-riot about three employees trying to murder their respective bosses with the help of a video bootlegger called “MF” Jones. That’s how you make a good black-comedy movie.
2) Jennifer Aniston as Dr. Julia. She still keeps on surprising the audiences with her various shades.
3) Great supporting cast completed with Kevin Spacey & Colin Farrell.
4) Even in the presence of Jason Sudeikis & Jason Bateman, Charlie Day as Dale clearly stole the show.
5) End credits: How You Like Me Now? (The Heavy song)

CONS –

VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1)The chances of this Jane Austen classic being ruined with slow-paced storytelling were too high but to my surprise, the movie is a well-made rom-com with some memorable romantic sequences (especially the climactic scene where Darcy is walking toward Lizzie at dawn).
2) A supporting cast with the likes of Judi Dench and Donald Sutherland.
3) Only the second feature film adaptation of the novel after 1940 – any such adaptation won’t be required for at least another 50 years.
4) Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy – it’s never easy to step into Colin Firth’s shoes.

CONS –
