Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (2019)

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Return to View Askewniverse where Jay and Silent Bob travel to Hollywood to stop a reboot of the ‘Bluntman and Chronic’ movie. The pun on current reboot culture in Hollywood is noteworthy.

CONS –
1) A plethora of cameos but hardly an effective one.
2) An avoidable reefer comedy.

QUOTE –
Well, a reboot, boys, is when Hollywood wants to make a lot of money without the hassle of creating a new movie, so they take an old movie and change just enough to make you pay for the same shit all over again. They take a flick you loved as a kid and add youth and diversity to it.

JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time (2014)

STORY – 1
DIRECTOR – 1
MUSIC – 0
CULT – 1

VERDICT – 3/4

PROS –
1) A frozen in time Lex Luthor returns from the 31st century with the help of Time Trapper and sends Baby Kal-El back to space, thus eliminating the entire Justice League.
2) The central characters of this movie are 2 teenage superheroes-in-training from the future, Dawnstar and Karate Kid. Time Trapper with the Eternity Glass is one strong villain with time-altering powers.
3) The 52-minute run-time is a charm. The climax also gives a Planet of the Apes (1968) kind of twist.

CONS –

CULT – 0

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) A pleasant surprise to see Christopher Walken as Feng.

CONS –
1) A promising plot suffering from a weak screenplay and poor writing. Except for the dead/fake panda joke, there is not a single good joke.
2) Dan Fogler playing a role tailor-made for Jonah Hill, Jack Black or someone from Team Apatow.
