VERDICT – 2/5

PROS –
1) A poignant father-son survival story in a post-apocalyptic world battling nuclear winter, hunger, and cannibals.
2) Intriguing cinematography.

CONS –
1) It’s a drama with familiar elements of a survival film without action and zombies.

Old Man: No. It’s foolish to ask for luxuries in times like these.

VERDICT – 2/5

PROS –
1) The only bearable scenes of the movie are between O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Seth Rogen.
2) Andy Serkis as Parker Wembley – unrecognizable in that makeup.

CONS –
1) While the complete movie was already ruined in the trailer, I decided to watch it anyway for the sake of Seth Rogen but the movie is a big bag of disappointment.

Verdict – 3/5

Pros –
1) John Woo redefined stylized action movies 30 years ago. David Leitch is adding a new chapter in this genre. Neon lightings, retro wave music, hand-to-hand combat, single sequence shot are key elements of his direction.
2) End Credits : Under Pressure – Queen ft. David Bowie
3) James McAvoy as Percival – his hungover, show-up-late, don’t-know-which-way-is-up act.

Cons –
1) Mediocre cold-war spy-thriller. Style over substance.

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Charlize Theron as Marlo – her jaw-dropping physical transformation for this role.

CONS –
1) If one word can define this movie it’s “weird”. Parenting can be difficult but the movie is taking that difficulty to another level for trivial reasons.
2) Comedy movie? On what planet ménage à trois and child mental disorder are funny?

VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) 2 hrs of “High Octane” non-stop action that can give restless nights to Fast & Furious franchise. We wonder why George Miller was wasting time in Babe: Pig in the City (1998) and Happy Feet (2006) when he can deliver this.
2) Charlize Theron as Furiosa, another legendary hand-amputee joining the league of Luke Skywalker, Ash Williams, Jamie Lannister, Winter Soldier, etc.
3) Mind-blowing cinematography and chase sequences.
4) Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe

CONS –
1) Many unanswered questions

1) Sarah Silverman Sub-plot.
2) Cameos (Doc Brown & Django Freeman)

1) Wannabe “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”.
