Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

STORY – 1

MUSIC – 1
CULT – 1

Verdict – 5/5

Pros –

1) Funniest movie in MCU – Thor and Hulk team up in this action-packed laughter ride
2) Filled with lovable characters – Korg, Grandmaster, Skurge
3) “Immigrant Song” by Led Zeppelin – overall music is not great but an effort is made after a long time in MCU.
4) Out of all the MCU movies – this is thoroughly entertaining with high rewatchability.

Cons –

1) Effortless end of 3 important characters: Hogun, Volstagg, and Fandral.

The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)

STORY – 0
DIRECTOR – 0
ACTOR – 0
MUSIC – 0
CULT – 0

Verdict – 0/5

PROS –
1) Being the final chapter of “The Hobbit” trilogy.
2) Confirming that Bilbo’s quest was a disaster with a sad ending and it’ll be concluded by Frodo.
3) End credits song by Billy Boyd –  “The Last Goodbye”.

CONS –
1) The Title – It was supposed to be “There and Back Again”. The Battle of the Five Armies makes no sense and didn’t justify the title for an epic conclusion.
2) 11 minutes for Smaug ? The “incident with the dragon” lasted less than the discussion.
3) Too much screen time for Ryan Gage as Alfrid.
4) The movie is the worst entry in the entire series. The movie appears hushed. The CGI, the screenplay etc was mediocre and Peter Jackson wrapped up production to conclude the series for the sake of it.

Blue Jasmine (2013)

Blue Jasmine

STORY – 1
DIRECTOR – 1
ACTOR – 1
MUSIC – 1
CULT – 0

Verdict – 4/5

Pros –
1) Woody Allen’s typical non-linear narration.
2) Sally Hawkins as Ginger
3) Cate Blanchett – powerful performance portraying the fall of a rich woman and her absolute meltdown.

Cons –
1) Though branded as Comedy-Drama, there are no moments of laughter. Rather too gloomy.

Quote –
Jasmine: Anxiety, nightmares and a nervous breakdown, there’s only so many traumas a person can withstand until they take to the streets and start screaming.
