VERDICT – 0/5

PROS –
1) The movie is watchable only when Satish Kaushik and Brijendra Kala were on the screen in their respective minor roles.

CONS –
1) Ekta Kapoor was trying to make a Sriram Raghavan thriller. But this mediocre adventure of her is as generic as it can be with the plot-twist that anyone can guess it from a mile.
2) Balaji Motion Pictures spent the entire budget on Kangana Ranaut’s costumes.

VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Satish Kaushik and Aasif Sheikh brought some fun with their character.

CONS –
1) Salman Khan tried the bollywoodization of Ode to My Father (2014) but ended up ruining it. He tried amalgamating Forrest Gump (1994) with the Korean movie.
2) The most important strength of Ode to My Father (2014) is its emotional quotient. Ali Abbas Zafar ravaged it by inserting periodical item numbers and tedious sub-plots.
3) Forgettable soundtrack.

Verdict – 3/5

PROS –
1) Opening credit rap-song: “Yatri Kripaya Dhyaan De”
2) Anand Tiwari managed a huge ensemble with great efficiency. Most of the cast from the Indian-web-series-circuit marked their presence even with minor roles.
3) Angira Dhar as Karina, Kunaal Roy Kapur, and Raghubir Yadav‘s performance stands-out.
4) That Ranbir Kapoor cameo.

CONS –
1) Rom-Com with a predictable story with a cliched climax where the bride came to her sense in the wedding aisle

CULT – 0

Verdict – 3/5

Pros –
1) This “odd-couple-road-movie” plot is driven mainly by the talents of Irrfan Khan & Parvathy
2) “Tanha Begum” – a modern rendition of “Babul Mora” during the opening credit
3) All the fun built up in the first half fizzled out in the second half.

Cons –
1) Mediocre third act and mild climax – as expected from so-called director Tanuja Chandra.

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) Bhumi Pednekar as Sugandha completely overshadowed Ayushmann Khurrana in this arrange-cum-love-cum-arrange marriage drama.
2) Seema Bhargava & Brijendra Kala – these 2 actors have now become the quintessential part of any movie with the small-town middle-class DNA
3) Opening Bollywood flashback collage.

CONS –
1) Over the top climax – The plight of Erectile Dysfunction was ridiculed to a funny sub-plot
2) Now, these movies are becoming more and more predictable – arrange marriage fiasco in the first half, a jagrata remix song before intermission, hero’s sidekick, and loud climax.
