VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) A lifelong journey of an ex-convict Jean Valjean whose life is transformed after witnessing an act of mercy by a Bishop. Throughout his topsy-turvy journey, he’s chased by a police inspector called Javert who dedicated his life to imprison Valjean once again.
2) Great production-value and a huge star-cast.
3) Epic length musical with parallel themes of justice, romance, and revolution but most importantly self-sacrifice.
4) One Day More

CONS –
1) Average singing performances.

QUOTE –
Marius: Oh, my friends! My friends, don’t ask me what your sacrifice was for! Empty chairs at empty tables, where my friends shall sing no more.

Pros –
n/a

Cons –
1) Obligatory sequel; time waste. Unfortunately, extremely talented Seth MacFarlane’s is not able to deliver something big so far apart from Family Guy.
2) Not funny at all; can’t make a 2 hrs long movie counting on 4 jokes.
3) Reminds of Seth MacFarlane previous dud “A Million Ways to Die in the West”

John: That’s great! I mean, just like Sam L. Jackson.
Samantha Jackson: Who is that?
Ted: You ever seen any movie ever? He’s the black guy.
