Verdict – 2/5

Pros –
1) Martha’s revelation – from this point onward the cat was out of the bag.
2) A good ensemble of actors.

Cons –
1) Average murder-mystery with one plot-twist.
2) 30 minutes too long. Too much time taken in establishing that Rachel got some psychological illness to confuse the audiences.
3) Tate Taylor was clearly trying to recreate the magic of “Gone Girl” but not everyone is as good as David Fincher.

Pros –
1) Ben Falcone managed a great ensemble of actors for his debut.

Cons –
1) The central character is not Tammy but Pearl. It’s Susan Sarandon’s show.
2) Incoherent screenplay; switching between comedy and drama
3) Absolute talent waste of Toni Collette, Kathy Bates, Allison Janney etc.

Verdict – 3/5

Pros –
1) All credits to Jason Reitman for making a movie on a complicated topic as a feel-good funny fairy tale movie.
2) Great casting.Definitive Ellen Page role.
3) Well written screenplay with funny dialogues.
4) Refreshing soundtrack – “All I Want Is You”
5) Opening credits with rotoscoped Juno.

Cons –
1) Teenage pregnancy is no fun topic. Unlike “Knocked Up”, here we have a teenage school kid getting pregnant in a utopian ideal environment and everyone is behaving as if it’s completely normal.
2) Primary plot is ordinary. Even the reaction of Juno is surprisingly calm. Any ordinary kid would freak out in such situation.

Verdict – 3/5

Pros –
1) Jason Statham as Rick Ford: One of the most interesting movie character developed in recent movie history after “Jack Sparrow“. Best Jason Statham role so far.
2) Melissa McCarthy in her typical style.
3) Peter Serafinowicz as Aldo
4) Director: Paul Feig
5) Jason Statham’s monologues

Cons –
1) A predictable storyline with cliched sub-plots.Having said that, just like Jump Street movies, the story is irrelevant.
2) Brace yourself: A sequel is expected.

Rick Ford: I once used defibrillators on myself. I put shards of glass in my fuckin’ eye. I’ve jumped from a high-rise building using only a raincoat as a parachute and broke both legs upon landing; I still had to pretend I was in a fucking Cirque du Soleil show! I’ve swallowed enough microchips and shit them back out again to make a computer. This arm has been ripped off completely and re-attached with *this* fuckin’ arm. During the threat of an assassination attempt, I appeared convincingly in front of Congress as Barack Obama.I watched the woman I love get tossed from a plane and hit by another plane mid-air. I drove a car off a freeway on top of a train while it was on fire. Not the car, *I* was on fire.
