VERDICT – 1/5

PROS –
1) Manu Rishi’s final monologue. He did most of the heavy lifting in this movie. His bickering arguments with Gajraj Rao are the highlights of the movie.
2) Kya Karthe The Saajna remix.

CONS –
1) Ayushmann Khurrana role was poorly written. He was completely out of his element.
2) Tanishk Bagchi is a curse on this generation. He’ll end up ruining the entire Bollywood catalog of classic songs.
3) You just can’t make an entertaining movie only because of good actors.

VERDICT – 2/5

PROS –
1) A new age romance which is a soft reboot of Tanu Weds Manu (2011) with elements of Dev D (2009).
2) Saurabh Sachdeva as Kakaji – Best outcome of this movie
3) “Daryaa” by Ammy Virk, Shahid Mallya

CONS –
1) Meaningless movie title.
2) Nothing extraordinary for the fans of Anurag Kashyap.

VERDICT – 5/5

PROS –
1) A 100% epic desi horror folk-tale of greed. The supernatural character of Hastar and the cursed-immortal Lakkad-Naani will give nightmares to even Freddy Krueger.
2) The aspect of “cursed rain” which is part of the lore.
3) Exceptional screenplay respecting the intelligence of the audiences.
4) Extraordinary direction and cinematography capturing rural British India without any fuss. The troika of almost unknown directors has achieved something massive which will be difficult to emulate by any other bollywood horrors in the coming years. It’s a masterpiece.
5) Great sound mixing and score.
6) Inside Goddess’ womb – the things nightmares are made of.

CONS –

VERDICT – 3/5

PROS –
1) Bhumi Pednekar as Sugandha completely overshadowed Ayushmann Khurrana in this arrange-cum-love-cum-arrange marriage drama.
2) Seema Bhargava & Brijendra Kala – these 2 actors have now become the quintessential part of any movie with the small-town middle-class DNA
3) Opening Bollywood flashback collage.

CONS –
1) Over the top climax – The plight of Erectile Dysfunction was ridiculed to a funny sub-plot
2) Now, these movies are becoming more and more predictable – arrange marriage fiasco in the first half, a jagrata remix song before intermission, hero’s sidekick, and loud climax.
