True Grit (1969)

STORY – 1
DIRECTOR – 1
ACTOR – 1
MUSIC – 0
CULT – 1

Verdict – 4/5

Pros –
1) John Wayne as Reuben J. “Rooster” Cogburn – the one-eyed U.S. Marshal.
2) The Coen Bros. remake was quite unnecessary as it added nothing new to this version. The original is perfect.
3) A movie full of colorful characters which include “Lucky” Ned Pepper played by Robert Duvall.

Cons –
1) La Boeuf‘s death was unexpected.

Quote –
Rooster Cogburn: You can’t serve papers on a rat, baby sister. You gotta kill him or let him be.
